LGBTQIA+ Children's Books to Read for Pride Month

Happy June, everyone! It’s officially Pride Month! We think the best stories for kids are about inclusivity, community, and being yourself, so we’ve picked out some excellent reads that highlight the experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. Check them out below!

This charming picture book invites readers to go on a swashbuckling adventure without leaving home. This Indie’s Introduce Pick tells the story of 13-year-old Ollie, who struggles to balance culture, family dynamics, and figuring out their own identity—all while going through puberty! The Queen Bees of Tybee County by Kyle Casey Chu (she/her)
This middle-grade debut introduces readers to Derrick Chan, the basketball star of his middle school. The Curse of Eelgrass Bog by Mary Averling (she/her)

Cross My Heart and Never Lie by Nora Dåsnes (she/her)
