Listen to the Pippa Park Book Playlist & Create One with Your Students! K-Pop, Crush Anthems & More

Songs have a way of capturing every emotion and even bringing back memories. Author Erin Yun loves to listen to music—especially K-pop, which makes several appearances throughout Pippa Park Raises Her Game and Pippa Park Crush at First Sight.
Erin also used her love of music to help her with the writing process: she created a playlist for each of the characters in the books! Have a listen to her Pippa Park playlist here:
This activity can inspire other writers! The editors at Fabled Films Press created the Pippa Park Create a Book Playlist Activity to help your students get inspiration for their own creative writing projects.
They can pick songs their main character would enjoy listening to and songs representing a specific character or chapter—whatever brings them closer to the characters and captures the tone of their story.
To help get your students started, we put together a few upbeat crush anthems and energizing confidence boosters: K-pop songs inspired by the themes of the Pippa Park middle-grade series that we think Pippa would listen to!
“OMG” by NewJeans
This song will have you thinking about your own "crush at first sight!" We think Pippa Park would definitely be listening to this on loop (especially since she’s got not one but two crushes on her mind).
“I Am the Best” by 2NE1
The empowering message and catchy beat of this throwback song are sure to boost your mood and your confidence! We imagine this is what Pippa listens to while gearing up for her next big basketball game.
“DALLA DALLA” by ITZY
This song is all about celebrating what it means to be yourself and embrace your individuality, which is just what Pippa Park learns in the books. Our favorite lyrics? "Don't measure me by your standards alone / I love being myself, I'm nobody else!"
